Here you'll find pictures from a couple shows and some song lyrics, and I am slowly getting more of those songs transcribed. I think some of the Colonel's lyrics are worthy of closer examination, and I think they stand up very well under the type of scrutiny normally associated with poetic and literary criticism.

Take, for example, "Agony Wagon". When is the last time you heard a lyric as evocative as "locked tighter than a toddler in a tomb"? That phrase says a lot, not just in the context of the song, but also as just one example of many that tell us were he not a "Southern Gothic" rocker, he would be a Southern Gothic poet (which I suppose you could say he already is), or novelist, or both.

And may well be. All that is required is for him to make that decision, and I think if he did, reviews would say something along the lines of "If Flannery O'Connor and Hunter Thompson had a love-child...".

Erin is going to write a review of the shows to go here, I think.
